My main concern was not about the flight out but about the time change. Both kids did great on the flights. Hannah did not nap but Hunter did take a few short naps which kept him in good spirits. The concern about the time change did become reality. Hunter regularly gets up between 5:45 and 6:30. That means 2:45-3:30 in Arizona. Hunter was usually up for the day at 3:00. First nap at 5:00 am! We tried to accommodate by going to sleep a little earlier as well. The first night we were there, the kids were sleeping in the hotel room and we were eating dinner on the floor outside the room. Fun times!
Hannah on the air plane. She did great!
The first morning. We were trying to keep quiet so that Hannah could sleep.
We were able to spend some time with my grandfather which was nice. He was able to meet his great grandchildren for the first time. We then headed to Sedona which is where the wedding would be taking place. Luckily both kids slept on the way. I was not sure if Hannah would nap in the car or not but she did on a number of occasions which was great!
Grandpa said it had been a few years since he had done this! Looks like an old pro!
4 generations
Yea for naps in the car!
One morning, who knows what time but definitely before 6 am.
Cousin time
Hannah loved this chess set.
Chad and I were able to get out for a hike while the kids napped and Nana kept an eye on them.
Hannah is ready to go on a hike as well!
We had the stroller along but the trail was not exactly stroller friendly
Hannah wanted to switch hats with Nana.
Hannah slept in a regular bed a number of nights and in a pack and play a number of nights. She did great in either. When she was in a regular bed she wanted me to lie with her while she was falling asleep. Very cute! I was a little afraid she would want to keep this up when we got home but she has easily gone back to our usual routine. Hunter spent most of his nights in the bathroom! Usually there was somewhere we could put him so that he could go to bed early, have it be dark and hopefully we would not wake him up. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of his sleeping places.
The wedding was beautiful. It was at a winery and reminded me of my wedding. Ceremony was quick (probably the shortest one I have ever been to)! Nice dinner and dancing afterwards. It was great to see family and meet the new addition to the family.
At the brunch, Hannah was trying to climb the tree with Owen.
We also spent some time at the Grand Canyon. I have been once before but do not remember much. It was a great time.
The last couple days we were back in Phoenix/Scottsdale. The kids had fun playing in the pool. Both our kids love the water. Hannah did well with some arm floaties and Hunter enjoyed splashing in the pool and chewing on a diving ring of the Seths. We also headed to the Phoenix Zoo. Our first visit to a zoo with the kids. Hannah enjoying seeing all the animals.
See the blue ring in his left hand. Great chew toy!
